Brome Burgers & Shakes set to open in downtown Dearborn

Offering regionally sourced and organic fare, Brome Burgers & Shakes is opening its doors and celebrating a healthier way of dining out. The fresh-casual restaurant, located at 22062 Michigan Ave. in Dearborn, is set to open to the public on Friday Oct. 16, 2015 with a special grand opening party.

From the living wall of cascading, soft grass, to the floor-to-ceiling windows and clean, white subway tile, Brome’s interior reflects the menu itself – a fresh, contemporary spin on an American classic.

Never-frozen burgers are the star of the menu, made with 100 percent organic grass-fed beef. Several items, including house-cut Kennebec fries, dijonnaise mustard and vanilla bean custard are all made from scratch in-house. All ingredients on the menu are non GMO certified, as well as regionally sourced.

“With a Brome burger, you don’t get that sluggish, tired feeling that comes after eating a traditional burger,” said founder Sam Abbas. “Unlike traditional burgers, our beef doesn’t have added hormones or antibiotics to weigh you down. Our healthier version makes you feel lighter than the alternative.”

The menu includes 10 burgers; seven are beef and the other options are chicken, fish and house-made veggie. Shakes are spun with pure ingredients and will encourage patrons to sit and stay a while. Flavors include vanilla bean, chocolate, strawberry, mocha and banana hazelnut.

Brome is the second fresh-casual dining concept for Dearborn native Sam Abbas, 29. His first concept, Yogurtopia, is a self-serve frozen yogurt restaurant, bakeshop and coffee bar. Since founding Yogurtopia in 2010, the franchise has grown to three locations throughout Arizona and Michigan and will open a fourth later this fall.

With both of his concepts, Abbas seeks to fill a common goal—to create a community gathering space where people can get together and enjoy a quality meal that’s sourced from the best ingredients.

“I’ve set out to give people better options for food they’d go out to enjoy no matter what. It’s a small step to a healthier community,” said Abbas.

Brome Burgers & Shakes is opening its doors to the public this October and will host a Grand Opening Party on Friday, Oct. 16, 2015, complete with live music, tastings, specials and more. The evening will begin with a ribbon cutting and VIP hour from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. and then will open to the public from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
