CINEMA AND POKEMON UNDER THE STARS WITH UNITED WAY FOR SOUTHEASTERN MICHIGAN

United Way for Southeastern Michigan invites families to a free night out as part of Movie Night in the D at Campus Martius.

United Way for Southeastern Michigan invites families to a free night out as part of Movie Night in the D at Campus Martius. Families of all shapes and sizes are invited to a viewing of Disney Pixar’s Inside Out — the animated film that takes you on a journey from the Inside Out to discover the emotional roller coaster inside your head.

In addition to the feature film, United Way is organizing pre-movie festivities to include a Pokemon Go Party, where players can follow United Way on Instagram at @UnitedWaySEM to see where Pokemon "lures" will be dropped at PokeStops around Campus Martius. Participants may show the Pokemon they catch to staff at the United Way tent to receive swag. In addition, free popcorn, giveaways for students grades K-12, as well as family-friendly games and activities will be available at no cost to movie goers.

United Way is hosting the film as part of its ongoing community-wide campaign, “It Takes a Family,” and as a way to thank the community for its continued support of its initiatives around Basic Needs, Education and Financial Stability.
