DEARBORN, MI — Car enthusiasts can show off their classic rides in the inaugural "Dearborn Classic," which will be part of the festivities at this year's Dearborn Homecoming festival.

The event will be held on Friday, Aug. 4 from 3-8 p.m. on the festival grounds.

"We’re excited to add some classic flavor to the Homecoming Festival’s already impressive suite of attractions," Dearborn Mayor Abdullah H. Hammoud said. "No one knows cars like Dearborn does, and I look forward to showcasing our legacy of automotive innovation this August."

To be part of the display, the vehicle must have been built in 1995 or before. Owners must complete a registration form and pay a $20 registration fee before July 24. Cash or credit payments will be due at check-in on the day of the event.

The "Dearborn Classic" show aims to build on the legacy of the Cruisin' Dearborn Classic Car Cruise, which was formerly presented by the Dearborn Area Chamber of Commerce for the past 20 years.
