Construction Workers Injured When Scaffolding Collapses
The men, both in their 30s, sustained "traumatic injuries" in the construction accident.

DEARBORN, MI – Two men were seriously injured Wednesday morning after scaffolding collapsed while they were working on a hotel project, Dearborn fire officials said.
The men, both in their 30s, are expected to survive. They were working on a Holiday Inn and Staybridge Suites project on Michigan Avenue at Telegraph when the scaffolding collapsed around 10 a.m. near the awning at the building’s entrance.
“We think they’ll make it,” Fire Chief Joe Murray told The Detroit News. “I believe that’s a reasonable expectation.”

The cause of the scaffolding collapse is unknown. Investigators from the fire department and city of Dearborn’s commercial service division were at the accident scene Wednesday morning trying to determine the cause and if work will be stopped on the project.
