In a statement Thursday, Wayne County Attorney Kym Worthy said authorities allege Green bound his wife, cut her face with a box cutter, shot her in the face and then shot the older two children in front of her. Both Chadney Allen and Kara Allen suffered multiple gunshot wounds, Worthy said.

In the garage of the home, duct tape was observed on the muffler of a car and a plastic tube was attached to the car. They alleged Green poisoned the two younger children with carbon monoxide, then placed them in their beds.

Green was arraigned in Dearborn Heights 20th District Court Thursday morning on the following charges:

  • Four counts of first-degree murder;
  • One count of assault with intent to do great bodily harm;
  • One count of torture;
  • One count of unlawful imprisonment;
  • One count of felonious assault;
  • One count of felon in possession; and
  • One count of felony firearm.

Green, who was remanded back to jail, is next scheduled to appear in court at 11 a.m. on Oct. 5 for a probable cause hearing. His preliminary examination is at 9 a.m. on Oct. 12.

Worthy said the allegations against Green tragically illustrates the "silence of violence."

"A confluence of events led to the deaths of four beautiful children," Worthy said. "The alleged evidence in this case will show an appalling level of domestic violence that ‎was cataclysmic. We must push the issue of domestic violence back to the forefront and be constantly educated about it."

Green was paroled from prison in 2008 after serving 16 years in prison in the death of his pregnant wife, Tonya, and unborn child. His current wife had filed for divorce twice, most recently in August, and had sought a protection order against Green in February 2013, but it was denied.
