Dearborn Animal Shelter Vies for $15K Suburban Collection Grant

As the continues on its goal of adopting out more than 700 animals through the end of October , another grant opportunity has come up, and they're asking for a little "love" from supporters.

The Subrban Collection's Great Charity Giveaway asks people to "love" or "leave" local charities, and those with the most "love" move up to the final round for a chance of winning as much as $15,000.

"According to the Troy-based dealership: "The Suburban Collection began the Great Charity Giveaway in 2011, aiming to support local charities that may not have a chance to receive nationally donated money from larger charitable contests. The Suburban Collection specifically wanted to benefit Metro Detroit charities where the money they receive will be used to benefit those in the surrounding communities."

Voting is allowed once per person per day through Aug. 24.
