Dearborn to Conduct City Budget Workshops
The public is welcome to attend scheduled workshops in March and April in which the City Council will be focused on a proposed budget.

From the City of Dearborn: The public is welcome to attend scheduled workshops in March and April in which the City Council will be focused on the proposed budget for fiscal year 2018.
The proposed FY18 city budget covers July 1, 2017 through June 30, 2018. Traditionally, multiple meetings take place between the administration and the City Council prior to the public hearing and public adoption of the budget. Several sessions have already occurred.
Budget workshops and topics are scheduled as follows:

- March 20: Status of Pension Funds
- March 28: Human Capital; Departmental Operations and Staffing Trends
- April 10: Property Maintenance and Development Services
- April 12: Tax Rates, Library Budget, Budget Overview and significant changes.
- April 17: Public Safety - Police
- April 18: Public Safety - Fire
- April 19: Recreation and Culture, Historical Museum
- April 24: Public Works, Infrastructure
Workshops are 6:30 p.m. in Conference Room 1-A of the Dearborn Administrative Center, 16901 Michigan Ave.
Residents attending the sessions should use the West Entrance of the DAC. Please note that topics, dates, times and meeting locations are subject to change.

The schedule of sessions will be updated here in the Transparency section. Documents related to the proposed FY2018 budget will be continually posted on the website as they become available.
The budget must be approved by the City Council before the new fiscal year begins.
