Dearborn Courthouse 'Goes Hollywood' for Symphony Fundraiser

The deadline to purchase tickets for the annual "day in court" dinner and concert is Oct. 30. Here's how to do it.

If you’ve always wanted your constitutionally guaranteed “day in court,” the Dearborn Symphony is providing a unique opportunity for you to do so without committing an infraction, while enjoying a three-course dinner, with musical accompaniment and wine, at its annual “Dinner at the Dearborn Courthouse” fundraising event on Friday, Nov. 13.

This year’s event has a Hollywood theme, as a salute and prelude to the evening’s concert featuring “Hits From the Silver Screen.”

The dinner begins at 6 p.m., in the airy and aesthetically appealing atrium of Dearborn’s 19th District Court at 16077 Michigan Ave. The concert begins at 8 p.m., right across the parking lot, at the Dearborn Performing Arts Center.

While you won’t be promised an appearance by A-list Hollywood stars — who occasionally end up in court — you will be promised an opportunity to mingle with A-list Dearborn Symphony supporters, while contributing to scholarships for young musicians and supporting music-related activities in Dearborn.

Dinner prices range from $85 to $100 and should be purchased by Oct. 30,, which also is the deadline for $100 contributors to be listed in both the dinner and concert programs.

The Dearborn Symphony is a non-profit 501c3 organization, so a significant portion of the dinner price is tax-deductible. Send your checks made payable to “Dearborn Symphony Orchestra” to: Hits From the Silver Screen, Dearborn Symphony Orchestra, P.O. Box 2063, Dearborn, MI 48123.

Credit cards also are accepted. Visit the Dearborn Symphony website at dearbornsymphony.org or call (313) 565-2424 for details.

Concert tickets are sold separately and will be available (if not sold out) for $30 at the door.
