Decorators Sprucing Up Trees for Festival
Favorite annual holiday event kicks off with gala Nov. 19.
DEARBORN, MI — Glittery glam excitement is in the air as the trees inside the Ford Center get gussied up for the annual Festival of Trees. The festival has become a favorite holiday tradition.
The 32nd annual event is a benefit for the Children's Hospital of Michigan Foundation, and will kick off with a gala on Saturday, Feb. 19. The trees will be on display Nov. 20 to 27 at the Ford Community & Performing Arts Center, according to the Dearborn Press and News.
The event is a public display of professionally designed 5-foot and 7-foot Christmas trees, tabletop trees, wreaths, gingerbread houses and other gifts that are sold to raise funds for pediatric research. A team of decorators is already on the job, meticulously designing the trees in myriad themes from cartoons and fairy tales to sports teams and animals. A gift shop and train display by Glancy Trains Modular Railroad Club round out the fun.
