Dearborn Flight Instructor Killed, Student Hurt In MI Plane Crash: MSP

Investigators believe the flight was a training flight, but do not know why the plane crashed, according to police.​​

WASHTENAW COUNTY, MI — A 46-year-old Dearborn flight instructor was identified as the person killed in a small plane crash Monday in Washtnenaw County, according to Michigan State Police.

A 22-year-old University of Michigan student from North Carolina was injured in the crash, according to police.

He was taken to the University of Michigan hospital in Ann Arbor, where he was being treated for injuries, according to police.

Police said the small plane crashed early Monday afternoon in the area of Michigan Avenue and Lima Center Road in Bridgewater Township.
