Dearborn Heights Teen Knocked Unconscious In School Fight: Police

Police said they're investigating a Dearborn Heights high school fight that left one student unconscious.

DEARBORN HEIGHTS, MI — A Dearborn Heights teen is recovering after he was knocked unconscious in a fight at Crestwood High School, police said.

The Wednesday fight was caught on camera as bystanders stood and recorded the physical altercation.

In a letter sent to parents, the school district said officials are taking the matter very seriously and will not tolerate the behavior of the students, including the ones who stood by and did nothing.

Police said they are reviewing video evidence and working with school officials to get witness statements so that the appropriate consequences are in place for the individuals involved.

"Violence in any area of our community will not be tolerated and will be investigated fully and efficiently to ensure fair and impartial policing for the citizens of Dearborn Heights," police said.

The student who was injured in the fight recently immigrated to the U.S. from Lebanon and got into a dispute with another student, which sparked the fight, according to Fox 2 Detroit.
