Dearborn Figure Skaters Seek Support as they Prepare for World Championships

The Crystallettes Senior Synchronized Skating Team will be heading to Sweden this month, and are hosting a fundraiser send off on April 4.

It was hard work that got the Dearborn Figure Skating Club's Crystalletes Senior Synchronized Skating Team ready to head to the world championships in Sweden April 12-14.

But it's support from the community that will help offset the costs, and give them a proper sendoff.

A spaghetti dinner fundraiser and silent auction will be held Wednesday, April 4, from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at the . Proceeds will help take the financial burden off of the team and their families as they prepare to compete in the World Synchronized Skating Championships in Goteburg, Sweden.

Tickets for the fundraiser are $10 for adults, $5 for skaters and children ages 6-12. Children ages five and under may attend for free.

Additionally, the Dearborn Figure Skating Club is seeking sponsors for the team, which just took home the silver medal in the national competition in Worcester, MA.

"Travel to this event is very expensive for the athletes and their families, and we are selling T-shirt advertising sports to help with thse expenses," the group said in a release.
