Dearborn Man Killed In Road Rage Incident, Detroit Man Charged: Police

Desmond Burks, 33,​ was charged with second-degree murder​.

DETROIT — A Detroit man is facing charges in connection with a road rage incident that happened in April and left a Dearborn man dead, according to the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office.

Officers found Reda Saleh, 67, of Dearborn, lying unresponsive and suffering from a head injury in a street near West Chicago Street and Greenfield Road.

Saleh was taken to a nearby hospital where he remained until he died from his injuries on May 11, according to the prosecutor's office.

Desmond Burks, 33, was charged with second-degree murder. He was placed in jail with a $1 million bond. If he is released from jail, he must wear a GPS tether and live under house arrest, according to the prosecutor's office. His next court date is scheduled for May 24.

Prosecutors said Saleh's car bumped into the back of a vehicle driven by Burks near an intersection of West Chicago Street and Greenfield Road at 6:45 p.m. on April 17, according to the prosecutor's office.

Burks then got into an argument with Saleh and punched him, and left him lying in the street before fleeing the scene, according to the prosecutor's office.
