Dearborn Officers Shoot, Injured Man Who Was Yelling 'Die, Die, Die': Police

DEARBORN, MI — A man was shot and injured in an officer-related shooting in Dearborn last Friday, according to police.

The shooting happened just before 11 p.m. Friday at a home in the 24000 block of New York Street, according to police.

Police said the 53-year-old man was causing a disturbance and yelling "die, die, die."

Officers arrived at the home and saw the man walking outside with a long gun, according to police.

That's when an officer fired a shot, striking the man, according to police.

The man was taken to a nearby hospital with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound, according to police.

No officers or anyone else was injured in the incident, according to police.

Police said there is no threat to the community.

Since this was an officer-related shooting, Michigan State Police have taken over the investigation.
