Dearborn Shelter Works Hard to Find Cat Shelly a Home
Shelly, an 11-year-old calico, has been at the Dearborn Animal Shelter for nearly two years, and needs a new home.
Shelly isn't new to the pages of Dearborn Patch. But this repeat story is a sad one: this 11-year-old calico has been a resident of the for nearly two years.

She's well-mannered, gets along well with other cats, and is in excellent health. Shelly is laid back, and is looking for a home where she can relax with her new owners.

The adoption fee for an adult cat such as Shelly is normally $80, but has been temporarily lowered to $25. Adoption fees include a basic medical exam, behavior assessment, age-appropriate vaccinations, parasite and worm check, spay or neuter, microchip ID, travel box, cat comforter and cat care information. An optional, but recommended, combination feline AIDS and feline leukemia test (for cats 12 weeks and older) is an additional $20.

Adopters are also eligible for pet insurance from PetFirst HealthCare at an introductory price of $5 for the first month. The price includes accident and illness coverage with any veterinarian. Adopters must register their pet within 20 days of adoption by calling 866-937-PETS, or visiting www.petfirstadoption.com.
