Music Director. Markou is also a professor and director of orchestral studies at Wayne State University.

The occasion promises to be an elegant affair featuring spectacular vintage cars on loan from Ford Motor Company, stylish models, live jazz with “Metro Jazz Voices”, small plates from various Dearborn restaurants, and a silent auction. Tickets are $35 each and include a cigar aficionado’s display of wares, as well as an open bar featuring fine wines and craft beers. Sponsorships are available, beginning at $100 to $2,000. All donations are tax-deductible.

Sandy Butler, President of the Dearborn Symphony, said: “It takes $25,000 - $30.000 to present every one of our concerts. While we have been able to manage expenses without reducing the quality of the music, the success of Cars, Cigars & Jazz will go a long way in helping us maintain a level of excellence that Dearborn and Greater Detroit, in general, expects and wants.”
