The eighth-grade girl said the teacher made remarks that she and other students should take showers because they "stink" and <a href="https://www.clickondetroit.com/news/dearborn-teacher-under-investigation-for-alleged-racist-comments-made-to-students" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">later asked if she was American and why she doesn't go back to her country</a>, WDIV reported. According to the report, both the girl and her mother were born in America. One advocate told WDIV it might be a bias because the girl wears a scarf. The school district said it takes every complaint seriously and is investigating. The teacher has been put on administrative leave, according to the report.
