A Dearborn teen was killed and another person was seriously hurt in a Sunday rollover crash on a Detroit freeway, police said.

DETROIT — A Dearborn teen was killed and another person was seriously hurt in a Sunday rollover crash on a Detroit freeway, according to Michigan State Police.
Police said a 16-year-old driver lost control while speeding along a curve on eastbound Interstate 96 near Fullerton Avenue at 3:50 p.m.
The car then ran up an embankment, struck a utility pole and rolled over, police said.

The 16-year-old driver was ejected from the car, police said. The teen was taken to a nearby hospital where they died, police said.
The passenger in the car was taken to a nearby hospital and was listed in critical condition Monday morning, police said.

"Parents please remind your kids the dangerous of speed when driving," Michigan State Police First Lt. Mike Shaw said. "Seatbelts are also a must use for all of us. It is heartbreaking to lose a young life in a preventable crash."
