Dingell's Dearborn Office Broken Into And Vandalized

DEARBORN, MI — U.S. Congresswoman Debbie Dingell's Dearborn office was broken into and vandalized on Monday, the U.S. Representative from Dearborn said on Twitter.

Dingell said the intruders smashed the office's door and windows, along with memorabilia, some of which was former U.S. Congressmen John Dingell's.

Dearborn Police responded immediately and assured there were no injuries. The United States Capitol Police are assisting with the investigation.

"Thankfully, my staff and I are safe & no one was hurt, but we must also recognize the impact attacks like this one & constant threats have had on my staff and all Congressional staff," Dingell said. "This needs to stop now."

While Dingell said a motive for the incident was unknown, she also said her office has received threats for months.

"Regardless of if your views differ from mine or from your neighbor’s, we need to learn to hear each other out and work together to solve the issues facing our nation," Dingell said.
