So I really tried to hold it in about this attorney objecting to an Easter egg hunt and his wanting me to believe that his 9 year old came home feeling threatened by the flier. Then I read some posts by people that feel as though we should thank God that the Muslim faith is on exhibit in Dearborn on a daily basis. Well I do respect the Muslim faith and have a great number of Muslim friends. I am 1 of only 2 American families on my street so I harbor no bias against Arab Americans . But here's the deal. If this attorney has not been able address the religious rights that exist in our great country and the need NOT to be threatened by other religions maybe he should take some classes at HFCC in Philosophy and American government so as to get a better grasp of what living in the U.S. is all about. If I were this attorney I would go to the registered sex offenders web site and type in the zip code 48126 to see if any of the multitude of registered offenders attend his mosque. I live near an elementary school and do look at the site to make sure that the children of my neighborhood are safe.
I feel that the site is a valuable tool in regards to monitoring potential threats to our young ones. I also think it would open some eyes in regards to why one should not be threatened by another religion. I am sure that over 90 per cent of the offenders in my zip code are Muslim. Should I be afraid for the children in our neighborhood if an event is held at a Mosque or city park celebrating Eid or the end of Rammadan? Please excuse me if I have misspelled the Muslim holy days. No offense intended.
