Ford Recalls 90,500 Vehicles that Can Suddenly Stop in Traffic
Some Ford and Lincoln vehicles may not restart once the engines fail, increasing the risk of collisions, the automaker said.

DEARBORN, MI — Ford Motor Co. said Wednesday it is recalling more than 90,500 cars, SUVs and vans in North America because a problem with a fuel pump can cause engines to stall without warning while driving. The recall includes some of its police cruisers.
After the engines stall in the affected vehicles, all with 3.5-liter gasoline turbocharged direct-injection engines, they may not start again, increasing the risk of a crash, the Dearborn-based automaker said in a statement.
Ford said it is also recalling about 2,500 Ford Transit vans from model years 2015-16 with 3.2-liter diesel engines that can also stall while the vans are in motion.
