Former Dearborn Clerk Charged With Embezzlement, Other Offenses
The former Dearborn city clerk will be arraigned Thursday on embezzlement, larceny and misconduct in office charges.

DEARBORN, MI — Former Dearborn City Clerk Kathleen Buda, who resigned last year amid a Michigan State Police investigation, was charged Wednesday with embezzling money, larceny and misconduct in office, Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy said.
Prosecutors allege that from Nov. 12, 2015 to Dec. 12, 2015, Buda stole money from an office cash box on multiple occasions. It’s unclear how much money was missing, and Worthy’s office said the specific facts and evidence of the case will be presented at her preliminary examination.
Buda is expected to be arraigned 1 p.m. Thursday before Dearborn 19th District Court Judge Mark Sommers on one count of embezzlement by a public official, three counts of larceny in a public building and three counts of misconduct in office.
