Guns Found, Wayne County School Placed on Lockdown
Two students face expulsion hearings, superintendent says.

GARDEN CITY, MI – A school in Garden City was locked down Tuesday and two students taken into custody face expulsion after two guns were found at the school, authorities said.
One of the guns was found inside Cambridge High school and another was found inside, Garden City Schools Superintendent Derek Fisher said in a statement on the school district’s Remind system that sends email messages and reminders to parents and other subscribers.
“Based on information so far, there does not appear to have been a plan to harm other students or staff members in the school environment,” Fisher wrote in the statement. “Certainly, any dangerous weapon, especially a firearm is cause for alarm.
