Last Chance to Donate Your Used Shoes and Save Lives!

Declutter your closets and help the DOD Kiwanis save lives by eliminating tetanus at the same time!

The Dearborn Outer Drive Kiwanis
used shoe drive,Walk a Mile in My Shoes, is
ending on January 31, 2017.
The purpose of this drive, as part of
Project Eliminate, is to help eradicate maternal and neonatal tetanus
in the world by providing treatment to mothers and newborns so they
will not be subject to tetanus during unsanitary birthing situations
or afterward.

Kiwanis International has devoted six years to this project and 13 countries no longer suffer from tetanus
because of it. For every 25 pairs of shoes donated, the Kiwanis earns enough money to secure shots for 5 individuals as the shoes are resold in third world markets. The project allows you to clean out
your closets, provide support for a cottage business, and help
eliminate tetanus!

So far, the efforts of the Dearborn Outer Drive Kiwanis and our youth groups,
