Classes Offered for Skating Novices in Dearborn

Register at DISC for eight-week sessions for kids and adults.

DEARBORN, MI — Kids and adults can learn to ice skate this fall and winter through the Dearborn Recreation & Parks Department’s “Learn to Skate” program. The “Learn to Skate” program features classes for skaters of all levels and abilities.

Classes meet once a week for eight weeks, beginning October 12, at the Dearborn Ice Skating Center (DISC), according to a press release.

Classes include Preschool (ages 3-5), Mondays from 1-1:40 p.m.; Beginner through Basic 8, Wednesdays from 5-5:40 and 5:40-6:20 p.m. and Saturdays from 9:40-10:20 a.m.; Beginner through Basic 5, Saturdays from 10:20-11 and 11:10-11:50 a.m.; and Low Freestyle and Adults, Saturdays, 9:40-10:20 a.m.

The cost for the “Learn to Skate” classes is $85 for residents and $95 for non-residents. Participants registering for two classes during the eight-week session will pay $125 (residents) or $140 (non-residents). Register at the DISC.

Additional eight-week sessions of “Learn to Skate” classes will begin December 12 and February 25.
