Local Author Appearing at Book Events

Dearbornite Collette Cullen will appear at the Kerrytown Bookfest on Sept. 13 and at the AAUW-Dearborn 64th Used Book Sale on Sept. 17 - 18

Local author, actor, and educator Collette Cullen will portray Annie Sullivan as she presents her book, Annie Finds Her Magic -Helen Keller’s teacher tells her story at two upcoming book events. She will have a booth at the popular Kerrytown Bookfest in Ann Arbor on Sunday,September 13th. Ms. Cullen will also host two Meet and Greet Book Signings at the Dearborn Branch of the American Association of University Women’s 64th Annual Used Book Sale that runs from Sept 17-20th at the DISC (Dearborn Ice Arena on ford Rd near Greenfield). She is scheduled on Sept. 17th from noon til 5 p.m. and on Sept. 18th from 10 til 2 p.m. Ms. Cullen’s book was inspired by her experiences as a teacher of special needs children and her research on the lives of Helen Keller and Annie Sullivan. She has also been performing a one woman show version of her book around the country and will shortly be presenting it in Nebraska at a celebration in honor of Maria Montessori and in Maine at a remembrance for Annie Sullivan.
