Man Arrested For Attempting To Steal A Car In Dearborn: Police
Officers said they responded to the 911 call from a resident regarding a suspicious person on the 7900 Block of Coleman Street.
DEARBORN, MI — Dearborn Police said they arrested a man Wednesday morning for attempting to steal a vehicle from a Dearborn neighborhood.
Officers said they responded to a 911 call from a resident regarding a suspicious person on the 7900 Block of Coleman Street, between Tireman Street and Warren Road.
The caller said the man was attempting to open vehicle doors, police said.

When officers arrived, they located the man and reviewed surveillance footage, which showed the man entering several vehicles and even attempting to start one of them, police said.
Officers arrested the man and charged him with larceny from a vehicle and an attempt of unlawful driving away of a vehicle, police said.

"Our night shift officers quickly responded to this report, utilized their investigation skills, and took the suspect into custody," Dearborn Police Chief Issa Shahin said. "The Dearborn Police Department will have an increased focus on patrolling the neighborhood issues residents care about and reducing this type of criminal activity."
