Man Charged In Shooting At Dearborn Wedding

Police said there were no injuries in the shooting, which happened at the Dearborn Manor Banquet during a family event.

DEARBORN, MI — A man is facing charges after firing shots at a Dearborn wedding on Friday, according to police.

Haider Al-Jebori was charged with assault with intent to murder, assault with intent to commit great bodily harm less than murder, discharging a firearm in an occupied building, assault with a dangerous weapon (felonious assault) and felony firearm (mandatory 2-year sentence).

Al-Jebori was placed in jail with a $500,000 bond. If he posts bond he cannot have contact with the victim or posses any firearms. His next court date was scheduled for sometime later this month.

Police said Al-Jebori was at a family event at the Dearborn Manor Banquet, located at 5101 Oakman Blvd. on Friday when he fired numerous shots into the air.

There were no injuries in the shooting, police said.

Police said the shooting was an isolated incident between family members and there was no further threat to the community.
