Meet Dearborn Heights Candidates at Sept. 21 Forum
Five candidates are seeking three four-year terms on the Dearborn Heights City Council.

League of Women Voters of Dearborn / Dearborn Heights President Betsy Cushman is urging voters in Dearborn Heights to prepare for the upcoming general election by attending the Candidate Forum at 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 21in the City Council Chambers at the Dearborn Heights City Hall, or by visiting VOTE411.org to find the Voter Guide.
The public forum will be moderated by Paul Bowman, a member of the State Board of the League of Women Voters, asks questions to each candidate and each has the same amount of time, usually one minute, to respond.

The forum will be taped by the City of Dearborn Heights and aired on the city’s government channels as well as on YouTube.
“Look for it if you can’t attend in person,” Cushman said in a statement.

The League of Women Voters, a nonpartisan political organization, encourages informed and active participation in government, works to increase understanding of major public policy issues, and influences public policy through education and advocacy.
The League never supports or opposes a political candidate or party. Membership is open to men and women of all ages. With 800 affiliates across the county, the League is one of the nation’s most trusted organizations.
Five candidates are seeking three four-year terms on the council. They are:
- Wassim Abdallah, 1 Cabri Lane
- Ned Apigian 5959 Rosetta (incumbent)
- Troy Brown 23420 Hanover
- Lisa Hicks-Clayton 26826 Rouge River Drive (incumbent)
- Ray Muscat 26911 Havelock
“Voters in Dearborn Heights need simple, helpful tools to help them navigate the voting process and Election Day,” Cushman said.
