Downriver Men Tried To Kidnap Infant From Mother Who Was Pushing Stroller: Police
Police said two men tried to kidnap an infant from its mother who was pushing a stroller on the sidewalk in a downriver community.
GILBRALTAR, MI — Police are searching for two downriver men who tried snatching an infant from a stroller the mother was pushing on the sidewalk Wednesday evening, police said.
Police said the mother was pushing the stroller with her infant child on the sidewalk in the area of Navarre Street and South Gibraltar Road in Gibraltar at 9:30 p.m. when two men jumped out of a dark-colored SUV and tried snatching the child.
The two men grabbed the stroller but were not able to take the child as the mother fought them off, police said.

The men then got back into the SUV and left the scene without further incident, police said. Officials described the men as dressed in all black and in their 30s.
Police said anyone in the area between 8:55 and 9:30 p.m. may be able to help with the investigation.
