The officer was responding to a call and wasn't speeding when the crash happened, Michigan State Police said.

TAYLOR, MI — A pedestrian was killed Monday morning after getting struck by a Taylor Police car, Michigan State Police said.

The Taylor Police officer was responding to a call without its emergency lights activated when the crash happened at 1 a.m. in the area of Goddard Road and Westlake Street near Telegraph Road, Michigan State Police said.

The officer was looking for an address on his left and was not speeding when he struck a pedestrian who was in the roadway and killed in the crash, Michigan State Police said.
