Motorcycle Operator Killed in Dearborn Collision

The accident was the fourth critical accident in four months involving an experienced operator, Police Chief Ronald Haddad said.

DEARBORN, MI — A 19-year-old Dearborn Heights man was killed early Sunday morning after his Suzuki motorcycle collided with a Jeep Cherokee on Warren Avenue near Jonathon Street in Dearborn, police said.

The victim has been identified as Mohamad Hazime.

The accident was the fourth critical motorcycle in four months, Dearborn Police Chief Ronald Haddad said in a news release.

Police said Hazime did not have a valid motorcycle license and that “it is clear that speed was a factor in the crash.” Police don’t believe that alcohol was a factor.

“Our condolences go out to this young man’s family and friends, but this is another example of an inexperienced motorcycle operator diving in a reckless manner,” Dearborn Police Chief Ronald Haddad said.

According to the news release, Hazime was westbound on Warren when his motorcycle struck the eastbound Jeep. The driver of the Jeep was not injured.
