AT&T bringing 3D reality experience to southeast Michigan to highlight dangers of distracted driving.

With Samsung, Bose and Google as collaborators, AT&T is touring more than 100 cities before year-end to highlight the dangers of distracted driving, using a 3D reality experience, to reach the public.

There are two planned stops in Michigan, including a yet-to-be-determined location in southeast Michigan.

Details about the events, including video, can be found in this AT&T blog post.

The setup is delivered through Samsung Gear VR, with premium sound from Bose QuietComfort® 25 Acoustic Noise Cancelling® Headphones. We’ll be giving away 100,000 free Google Cardboard viewers at tour stops and viewing events. This will allow people to use their own smartphones to see the 3D program.

AT&T also is unveiling a new summer ad campaign with 30-second commercials that will be shown nationally and on itcanwait.com. The commercials depict a mother and child involved in a car crash, as a result of distracted driving. In one commercial, the mother is responding to an email from work; in another she is trying to get to a game on her smartphone for her child to play and another shows her having just posted a picture of her cute kid on social media.
