Pit Bull Terrier–Loves Car Rides, Toys–Up for Adoption

Emily is available for adoption from the Dearborn Animal Shelter.

Last winter, Emily–just a puppy, then–was found wandering around Dearborn in the cold and brought in to the .

Now nearly seven months old, this black pit bull terrier weighs 25 pounds and is ready to go to a permanent home.

A big fan of car rides, toys, and a good game of fetch, her foster mom says that Emily is full of spunk and personality. She loves to give kisses, and is currently attending obedience training to learn basic commands–some of which she already knows!

Emily shares her foster home with older children, as well as other cats and dogs. She gets along wonderfully with all of them. Emily is also housetrained and crate-trained.

The adoption fee for an adult dog such as Emily is normally $140, but has been reduced to $100 through the Luv-A-Bullz program. Adoption fees include a basic medical exam, behavior assessment, age-appropriate vaccinations, parasite and worm check, spay or neuter, microchip ID, travel box, and pet care information.

Adopters are also eligible for pet insurance from PetFirst HealthCare at an introductory price of $5 for the first month. The price includes accident and illness coverage with any veterinarian. Adopters must register their pet within 20 days of adoption by calling 866-937-PETS, or visiting www.petfirstadoption.com.
