Police Investigating Road Rage Shooting In Dearborn: MSP

Michigan State Police are investigating a Thursday night freeway shooting that happened on Detroit/Dearborn border. There were no injuries.

DEARBORN, MI — Michigan State Police are investigating a Thursday night freeway shooting that happened on the Detroit/Dearborn border.

A 911 caller told state police he was driving home from Plymouth on the southbound Southfield Freeway near Ford Road at 9:35 p.m. when he noticed another was tailgating him, police said.

The caller then told state troopers the tailgater pulled up next to him and they began exchanging words on the freeway, police said.

After arguing, the caller sped up before he heard a loud bang, prompting him to exit the freeway at Michigan Avenue as the other driver continued driving south on the Southfield Freeway, police said.

The caller pulled into a Harbor Freight store in Dearborn and noticed a bullet hole in the front passenger side door, police said.

State Police did not report any injures in the shooting. Officials continue to investigate.
