Mei Lin wants "to punch the judges in the face with flavor."

Dearborn native Mei Lin will compete for the “Top Chef” title Wednesday on the Season 12 finale of the Bravo TV series. The program airs at 9 p.m.

Lin, formerly a sous chef at Ink restaurant in Los Angeles, grew up working in the kitchen of her father’s Dearborn restaurant, Kong Kow.

The Detroit Free Press reports Lin will face contestant Gregory Gourdet, executive chef of Departure in Portland, OR. Both will feature an octopus dish on their final menus. In a preview of the episode on the Bravo site, Lin told her sous chefs that she wants “to punch the judges in the face with flavor.”
