School Bus Plows into House, Pushes it from Foundation

The driver of a Mercedes sedan that hit the bus reportedly said she didn't see it.

DEARBORN HEIGHTS, MI – An empty school bus crashed into a Dearborn Heights house and pushed it off its foundation Thursday afternoon after being struck by a white Mercedes sedan, police said.

The impact caused the bus to veer off the road into the house at the intersection of Inkster and Annapolis roads, WDIV-TV reports.

Neither driver was injured.

The bus driver, Kameelah Stanley, told the TV station she had just dropped off the last student at Annapolis and Middlebelt and was pulling away after from a red light that had changed to green when the Mercedes struck the bus.

“When the light turned green I took off, and alls I know is, ‘boom!’ and I was in the house,” said the bus driver, Kameelah Sharpley. “If I wouldn’t have had the seatbelt on I would have been out the window somewhere.”

The woman who was driving the Mercedes reportedly said she didn’t see the bus.
