Southgate HS Student Dies In Woodhaven Car Crash, 4 Injured: Police

Police said the high school senior was one of three passengers in a car that ran a red light and crashed into a SUV.

WOODHAVEN, MI — A Southgate high school senior was killed and four others were injured in a Saturday night car crash in Woodhaven, police said.

Jasmine Alhachami was one of three passengers in a Black 2000 Lexus that crashed into an SUV after running a red light at the intersection of West and Allen roads in Woodhaven, police said.

Alhachami died from her injuries, while four others suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the crash.

Officials were still trying to determine if alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash, as the investigating continues.

Friends and family were seen building a memorial at the intersection where the crash happened in Woodhaven.

A GoFundMe page was set up for Alhachami. As of Tuesday morning, the page saw 82 donations for $4,310 of its $15,000 goal.
