Update: Stolen Model A Recovered by Dearborn Police

A Ford Model A classic car in June from a parking lot at the  has been recovered by  after two weeks of searching.

According to a press release from Dearborn Police, police found the car "in an industrial area" of Detroit roughly around the intersection of Mount Elliot and Gratiot. The press release attributes the find to the culmination of information collected by "concerned citizens and subsequent surveillance."

The owner had been towing the classic convertible in a trailer and parked his trailer — with the Model A in tow — in a parking lot at the museum. The Model A and the trailer have been found and are valued at about $30,000. Dearborn Police, however, are still looking for the car that towed them, a 2001 Ford F-250.

Dearborn Police Chief Ronald Haddad said in the press release that he was pleased to recover the piece of Americana.

"It was a pleasure for us to be able to call the car's owner in California to let him know that his classic piece of Ford history was recovered by our Special Operations crew," Haddad said. "Needless to say, (the owner) was elated."
