Wayne County Filling More Than 100 Jobs

Wayne County officials hope to fill more than 100 positions open through an online application process and some upcoming jobs fairs.

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office has 94 openings for police officers at a beginning salary of $28,284.

“Wayne County is moving in a positive direction and we are seeking qualified candidates interested in working in a government setting to fill open positions,” Wayne County Executive Warren C. Evans said in a news release. “We want people who are high-energy, committed to delivering results, and have a passion for helping Wayne County and its residents thrive.”

• Greater Grace Temple Job Fair: Friday, Nov. 6, 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at Greater Grace Temple, 23500 W. Seven Mile Road, Detroit
• Military Veterans Police Officer Recruiting Event: Saturday, Nov. 14, 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at Light Guard Armory, 4400 E. Eight Mile Road, Detroit.
• Fall 2015 Nursing Career Fair, Monday, Nov. 23, 9 a.m., Henry Ford Community College’s Andrew Mazzara Conference Center, 5101 Evergreen Road, Dearborn.

The positions are budgeted and all within approved guidelines of an executive order issued in March to restrict expenditures, Evans said. Among them jobs:

• Finance Executive for the Department of Management and Budget (pay commensurate with experience.
• Financial Systems Analyst for the Department of Management and Budget (pay commensurate with experience.
• Property Appraiser 4 for Department of Management and Budget ($46,746)
• Electronics Technician (two openings) for the Department of Environment ($39,550)
• Public Health Nurse (two openings) for the Department of Health, Veterans and Community Wellness ($50,000)
• Registered Nurse 1 (nine openings) for the Department of Health, Veterans and Community Wellness ($50,000)
• Senior Auto Technician for the Department of health, Veterans and Community Wellness ($43,506)
• Juvenile Detention Specialist for the Department of Health, Veterans and Community Wellness ($34,252)
• Engineer 1 for Department of Public Services ($43,506)
• Project Supervisor (two openings) for Department of Public Services ($39,550)
• Equipment Repair Specialist (three openings) for Department of Public Services ($42,849)
• Public Service Maintenance Worker (19 openings) for Department of Public Services ($28,313)
• Clerical Specialist for the County Clerk ($31,138)
• Account Clerk for the County Clerk ($28,313)
• Account Clerk for the Treasurer’s Office ($28,313)
• Account Clerk for the Sheriff’s Office ($28,313)
• Public Health Sanitarian for the Sheriff’s Office ($43,506)
