Wayne County Tax Foreclosures Down Almost 36 Percent
County officials credit the decline to reduced interest rates and federal aid available to homeowners.

Wayne County, MI – The Wayne County treasurer expects that as many as 18,000 properties are slated for the annual tax foreclosure auction this fall
According to the Detroit News, that’s a nearly 36 percent decrease from last year. The county offered up a record 28,000 foreclosures in 2015.
“It’s a drop,” said Treasurer Eric Sabree. “Collections are up all over the county, including Detroit. That’s a good sign. But people are still struggling. We have to stay vigilant.”
