Wayne County Man Kills Wife, Hides Her Body: Police

SOUTHGATE, MI — A Southgate man was arrested after police said he confessed to killing his wife and dumping her body in Washtenaw County, police said.

Officials were seen digging Monday behind a trailer at the West Ridge mobile home park in Superior Township, reports said.

The 42-year-old woman was last alive Saturday at her home in Southgate, about 40 miles from where officials found her remains, police said.

The 44-year-old husband was a person of interest as investigators searched for the missing woman, police said.

"This appears to be an isolated incident stemming from a domestic dispute," Southgate Police said in a news release. "We are working to submit our finding to the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office who will make a decision regarding formal charges."
