Wayne County Woman Hit By Gravel Hauler In Front Of Home: Officials

A Grosse Ile woman is recovering after she was struck Saturday by a gravel hauler while standing in front of her home, officials said.

GROSSE ILE TOWNSHIP, MI — A Grosse Ile woman is recovering after she was struck by a gravel hauler Saturday afternoon while standing in front of her home, according to the Grosse Ile Fire Department.

Officials said the semi truck left the roadway at 4 p.m., hitting numerous parked cars before striking the woman and pinning her underneath, as the truck crashed into the home on the 21000 block of Meridian Road.

The woman was taken to Beaumont Hospital – Trenton, where she was listed in serious but stable condition, officials said.

The 75-year-old semi truck driver was not injured in the crash, nor one person who was in one of the parked cars the truck hit, officials said.
