Wayne County Woman Wins $1M On Scratch-Off Ticket

A Wayne County woman is looking forward to "living easier" after winning $1 million on a scratch-off ticket, according to lottery officials.

LINCOLN PARK, MI — A Wayne County woman is looking forward to "living easier" after winning $1 million on a scratch-off ticket, according to lottery officials.

The lucky 63-year-old woman, who chose to remain anonymous, bought her winning Lady Luck 777 ticket at AAA Fuel, located at 3860 Dix Highway in Lincoln Park, lottery officials said.

"While I was cashing out at the store, I saw the Lady Luck 777 ticket and asked the clerk how many were left on the roll," the woman said. "There were only three left, so I bought them all."

She said she scratched all three tickets, and saw that she'd won but didn't scratch the winning amounts.

"I scanned them at the store and the first came back as a $100 winner, the second a $50 winner, and the third came back with a message to file a claim at the lottery office," the woman said.

She asked the clerk what "file a claim" meant, and he told her it must be a big winner.

"I went out to my car and scratched the amount to find out I’d won $1 million! The first thought that went through my head was that I can live easier now," the woman said.

She chose to receive her prize as a one-time lump sum payment of about $693,000 rather than annuity payments for the full amount.

With her winnings, she plans to buy a new car, share with family, and then save the remainder.
