When Will Power Be Restored After Morning Outage, Storm?

Several thousand customers were already without power when a fire occurred at the Dearborn substation.

DTE Energy’s efforts to restore power to southeast Michigan customers after Saturday’s snowstorm were complicated Monday when a fire at the Dearborn substation doubled the number of outages.

About 6,000 customers were already without power when crews were called to Dearborn substation about 7:15 a.m. DTE Energy spokesman Scott Simons told the Detroit Free Press it’s unclear when power will be restored.

Affected in Dearborn are customers who live east of Greenfield Road to about two blocks past Oakland Boulevard and north of Tireman Street, according to the DTE Energy outage map.
