Woman Fired Gun Twice in Fight Outside Dearborn Bar: Police

A 28-year-old Sterling Heights woman faces attempted murder, assault and firearms charges in Sunday morning incident.

DEARBORN, MI – A Sterling Heights woman faces multiple charges after she allegedly fired her gun twice during a fight with two people in Dearborn bar parking lot early Sunday morning, police said.

Maricka Leisha Zachery-Seay, 28, threatened the two people she was fighting with her gun, then fired it twice, as a crowd gathered in a parking lot outside the Post Bar, 22065 Michigan Ave., about 1:55 a.m. Sunday, the Dearborn Police Department said in a statement.

A friend who was among a group of people in the parking lot intervened and pulled Zachery-Seay away from the victims, according to the news release. No one was injured.

Dearborn Police Chief Ronald Haddad said officers were nearby and responded quickly, preventing the dispute from escalating.

“This type of violent behavior will not be tolerated in Dearborn,” he said in the news release. “Our officers’ quick response and thorough investigation led to the arrest of a dangerous suspect.”

Zachery-Seay was arraigned Tuesday in 19th District Court and charged with two counts of assault with intent to commit murder, two counts of assault to with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder, two counts of assault with a dangerous weapon, felony firearm, possession of a firearm while under the influence and reckless use of a firearm.

Judge Mark Somers set bond at $300,000 cash, and Zachery-Seay must wear a GPS tether as a condition of release. Zachery-Seay’s probable cause conference is scheduled for 9 a.m. Friday, and her preliminary exam is scheduled for 9 a.m. April 15, both in 19th District Court.
