Worker Dies After Falling 20 Feet At Dearborn Building Site: MIOSHA

The worker fell nearly 20 feet at a construction site, according to the Michigan Office of Occupational Safety and Health Administration​.

DEARBORN, MI — A construction worker died Wednesday after falling nearly 20 feet at a construction site in Dearborn, according to the Michigan Office of Occupational Safety and Health Administration.

The 53-year-old laborer was working at the Ford Central Campus building on Oakwood Boulevard on Wednesday when he fell roughly 18 feet concrete below, MIOSHA officials said.

The worker was "performing fire-proofing activities to structural steel while wearing fall protection," but they were not physically tied-off to an anchorage point, MIOSHA officials said.

The victim's identify, position or who the laborer was working for was not released by MIOSHA officials.
