1 Dead In Fiery Crash On Detroit Freeway: Police

DETROIT — A driver was killed in a fiery crash on a Detroit freeway Monday night, according to Michigan State Police.

Troopers said the driver was speeding south in a car on the Lodge Freeway at Wyoming Avenue at 10:05 p.m. when the driver lost control of the car.

The car went off the road, up the embankment and struck a bridge pillar at Wyoming Avenue, according to police.

The impact of the crash caused the car to burst into flames, according to police.

Officials found the driver dead inside the car after firefighters put out the blaze, according to police.

Police believe they have identified the driver, but official autopsy results are pending.
