One person is dead after a Friday morning rollover crash on a Detroit freeway, Michigan State Police said.

DETROIT — One person is dead after a Friday morning rollover crash on a Detroit freeway, Michigan State Police said.

State troopers said the driver lost control and flipped his car on southbound Interstate 75 near Interstate 96 at 3:30 a.m. Both the driver and passenger were thrown out of the car in the crash, officials said.

Police found the 21-year-old passenger dead on the scene and took the driver to a nearby hospital with non-life threatening injuries, officials said.

Police believe the driver was impaired and were working to get a search warrant to draw blood, officials said.

He will be placed in the county jail if he receives medical clearance, officials said.
