2 Dead After Easter Morning Detroit House Fire: Officials
Officials said "challenging conditions" made it tough for firefighters to get inside the home.
DETROIT — Two people died after an Easter morning house fire in Detroit, according to officials.
The fire happened at 5:35 a.m. Sunday at a home on Ashley Street, in the area of Kerby and Mack, officials said.
A neighbor called 911 and firefighters arrived at the home within minutes, officials said.

They found flames bursting out the side of the house, officials said.
Once inside the home they found a woman suffering from severe burns, officials said.

She died despite efforts from emergency personnel to revive her, officials said.
Firefighters also found a man dead inside the home, officials said.
Officials said "challenging conditions" made it tough for firefighters to get inside the home and rescue the man and woman.
Officials did not identify the victims and no other details were released, including the cause of the fire.
The investigation is ongoing.
